ANTI ICE Control Panel
Overview
The ANTI ICE Control Panel manages anti-icing functions for both wing leading edges and engine nacelles. The panel contains three rotary selectors: one for the wing and one for each engine. These controls allow the flight crew to activate pneumatic anti-icing by opening valves that route hot bleed air to critical surfaces.
Panel Components
Wing ANTI-ICE Selector
- Rotary selector for activating wing anti-ice.
-
ON:
- Opens wing anti-ice valves.
- Sends hot bleed air to leading edge surfaces.
- Permitted on ground for no more than 30 seconds (for test only).
-
OFF:
- Closes wing anti-ice valves.
- Disables anti-icing for wing leading edges.
-
The valve closes automatically under the following conditions:
- Isolation required due to system faults (e.g., fire detection alerts, pressure sensor issues).
- 30 seconds have passed since weight-on-wheels signal was received.
- Engine start is in progress.
L ENG ANTI-ICE Selector
- Rotary selector to enable nacelle anti-ice for the left engine.
-
ON:
- Opens left engine nacelle anti-ice valve.
- Hot bleed air flows to nacelle surfaces.
-
OFF:
- Closes left nacelle anti-ice valve.
- Disables anti-icing for the left engine.
R ENG ANTI-ICE Selector
- Rotary selector to enable nacelle anti-ice for the right engine.
-
ON:
- Opens right engine nacelle anti-ice valve.
- Hot bleed air flows to nacelle surfaces.
-
OFF:
- Closes right nacelle anti-ice valve.
- Disables anti-icing for the right engine.
