ELEC Control Panel
Overview
The ELEC Control Panel manages the aircraft’s electrical power system, including battery connections, generator operation, and automatic or manual transfer of electrical buses. Each switch is equipped with indicators for operational state and faults.
Panel Components
ETRU Switch
- Pushed: Connects the E TRU to the DC ESS XFER BUS in automatic control mode.
- Released: Disconnects the E TRU from the DC ESS XFER BUS.
- FAULT ON: Indicates overload or internal fault in the E TRU.
MAIN BATT Switch
- Pushed: Connects the main battery to the L DC ESS BUS with automatic control. FC BATT relay closes.
- Released: Disconnects main battery from L DC ESS BUS.
- FAULT ON: Battery is disconnected due to fault or battery charger issue.
ESS BUS TIE Switch
- Pushed: Automatically ties left, right, and emergency power supply channels.
- Released: Disconnects left and right channels from emergency power supply.
APU BATT Switch
- Pushed: Connects APU battery to R DC ESS BUS in automatic mode. FC BATT relay closes.
- Released: Disconnects APU battery from R DC ESS BUS.
- FAULT ON: Indicates disconnection or charger fault for APU battery.
CABIN PWR Switch
- Pushed: Puts cabin loads into automatic control.
- Released: Disconnects cabin loads (e.g., galleys, entertainment) for manual shedding or smoke isolation.
L (R) DRIVE Switch
This is a momentary switch.
- Normal: Electrical power system operates automatically.
- Manual Disconnect: Generator is mechanically disconnected.
- FAULT ON: Oil temperature is too high or oil pressure too low. Pressing disconnects generator from engine.
L (R) GEN Switch
- Pushed: GCU automatically manages the corresponding engine-driven generator.
- Released: Disconnects the generator.
- FAULT ON: Generator is overloaded or has an internal fault.
Note
If the related ENG FIRE switch is released, the generator is disconnected regardless of GEN switch position.
EXT PWR Switch
This is a momentary switch.
- AVAIL OFF: External power not available or unsatisfactory quality.
- AVAIL ON (not connected): Power is available but not connected.
- AVAIL ON (connected): External power is connected to aircraft.
NORM BUS TIE Switch
- Pushed: Ties left and right power channels automatically.
- Released: Disconnects left and right power channels.
APU GEN Switch
- Pushed: APU generator controlled automatically.
- Released: APU generator disconnected.
- FAULT ON: Indicates overload or internal fault in the APU generator.
