FUEL Control Panel
Overview
The FUEL Control Panel manages fuel distribution between tanks and engines. It includes controls for activating fuel pumps, selecting automatic or manual modes, and enabling fuel crossfeed between wings. Each switch includes a FAULT light to indicate command disagreement or failure.
Panel Components
X FEED Switch
- Used to open or close the crossfeed valve between left and right fuel systems.
- Push: Opens the crossfeed valve, allowing fuel to be shared between wings.
- Release: Closes the crossfeed valve.
- If a fault occurs, the FAULT light illuminates, indicating the valve's actual position disagrees with the command.
L1 / L2 / R1 / R2 Fuel Pump Switches
- Each switch controls one of the four main wing tank fuel pumps.
- Push: Activates the respective fuel pump.
- Release: Turns off the pump.
- The FAULT light turns on when the actual operation does not match the command (e.g., pump failed to activate or deactivate).
C1 / C2 Fuel Pump Switches
- These switches control the center tank pumps.
- Push:
- If manual mode is selected on the MODE SEL switch, the center pump runs.
- If auto mode is selected, the pump is controlled by the system logic.
- Release: Turns off the pump regardless of mode.
- FAULT light indicates a mismatch between commanded and actual pump operation.
Note
Refer to DSC.28.10.40 Engine and APU Feed for auto mode logic and priority rules.
MODE SEL Switch
- Determines how the center tank pumps (C1/C2) are managed.
- Release: Pumps operate in auto mode, managed by system logic based on fuel needs and engine feed priority.
- Push: Switches to manual mode, allowing direct pilot control of C1 and C2 pump operation.
- FAULT light turns on if the system detects that the center pump status does not match expected behavior.
