PASS OXY Control Panel
Overview
The Passenger Oxygen (PASS OXY) Control Panel is used to monitor and manually deploy oxygen masks for passengers. It includes an indicator light to show the system status and a protected manual deployment switch that activates the oxygen system directly.
Panel Components
PASS OXY SYS ON Light
- This light indicates the deployment status of the passenger oxygen masks.
- Illuminated: Passenger masks have been deployed — either automatically by the cabin altitude warning system or manually by the crew.
- Off: Passenger masks are stowed, and no deployment has been triggered.
This status is critical during depressurization events to confirm that the oxygen system has engaged.
PASS OXY MANUAL Switch
- This is a guarded pushbutton used to manually deploy all passenger oxygen masks.
-
When pushed:
- The system immediately releases the masks
- The PASS OXY SYS ON light illuminates to confirm deployment
-
When released: No manual deployment is triggered.
Manual deployment is typically used when automatic deployment fails or is preemptively commanded during emergency descent procedures.
