ACP Control Panel

Overview

The Audio Control Panel (ACP) is used to select, monitor, and transmit over radio channels, as well as adjust audio volume levels. Each pilot and the observer position is equipped with an individual ACP panel.

Panel Function Details

Transmission Channel Indicator Light

  • Unlit: No transmission channel is selected.
  • Green Light On: The corresponding transmission key has been pressed, and the system is currently transmitting over that channel.

Call Key (CALL)

  • Unlit: No incoming call is received.
  • Lit (CALL): Indicates an incoming call on the corresponding channel (e.g., VHF, HF, or SATCOM), alerting the pilot of an incoming communication.

Note

  • Only one transmission channel can be selected at a time.
  • After power-up, the system defaults to the last used transmission channel.
  • If a SATCOM call is received, selecting the SAT channel on any ACP will automatically connect the call.

Receive Knob

  • Pulled Out: Activates reception on that radio channel.
  • Pushed In: Deactivates reception on that channel.
  • Rotate: Clockwise to increase, counterclockwise to decrease the audio volume.

Note

  • Each ACP can monitor up to three receive channels simultaneously.
  • Even when not pulled out, the audio of an actively transmitting channel can still be monitored.

PTT/OFF/INT Three-Position Selector

  • PTT (Push-to-Talk): Transmits audio only while the button is pressed.
  • INT (Intercom): Enables hot mic intercom among crew members, no button press required.
  • OFF: Disables the hot mic function.

Note

  • When in INT mode, PTT transmission is disabled.
  • INT is often used with medical intercom headsets or oxygen mask microphones.

Speaker (SPKR) Knob

  • Pulled Out: Enables speaker output.
  • Pushed In: Disables speaker output.
  • Rotate: Adjusts speaker volume.

Note

  • CAS alert volume is not controlled by this knob.
  • Each ACP panel controls its corresponding speaker: left, center, or right.
  • In flight, speaker monitoring is recommended to monitor multiple channels.
