Reversion Control Panel


Overview

The Reversion Control Panel is used to control cursor inhibition, toggle EICAS display modes, and cancel aural alerts.


Control Elements Description

CURSOR INHIB Button

  • Function: Inhibits cursor movement on the corresponding flight display.
  • Light ON (white): Inhibition active.
  • Light OFF: Inhibition canceled.

EICAS Reversion Selector Knob

  • Three selectable positions:
    • REV (Reversion): Activates when two or more IDU display units fail; shows compressed format with PFD + EICAS.
    • NORM (Normal): PFD shown on left IDU, EICAS shown on right IDU2.
    • SWAP: When only IDU5 fails or all IDUs are functioning normally, EICAS is shown on the left side of IDU3.

AURAL ALERT Cancel Button

  • CNCL Button: Momentary push to cancel aural warning chimes.

IRS Select Buttons (L/R)

  • Function: Manually select the IRS data source for PFD when IRS voting fails.
  • Note:
    • Buttons are disabled during normal IRS operation.
    • If IRS voting fails, the system defaults to IRS1 → IRS3 → IRS2 (or IRS2 → IRS3 → IRS1) in sequence.

EMER COMM Button

  • ON (Light ON): Activates emergency communication. VHF 1 auto-tunes to 121.500 MHz, VHF 1 becomes untunable via TCP; other VHF radios remain unaffected.
  • Light OFF: Emergency communication not active.

G/S CNCL (Glideslope Cancel) Button

  • Function: Cancels "Glideslope" aural alerts when triggered.
  • Light ON: Cancellation in effect.
  • Light OFF: Not active.

AURAL ALERT CNCL Button

  • Function: Cancels continuous aural alerts in the cockpit, including those that cannot be silenced via MASTER WARN or MASTER CAUT.
  • After Pressing: EICAS will show a cyan message: "AURAL CANCELED".
  • Light OFF: No active alerts.
